Blackberries & Loganberries
« on: September 13, 2012, 16:42 »
I have been surprised at the length of the new canes this year on both fruits, never been so long. I measured one which was just over14ft. on the Blackberry. Both provided a bumper crop as well. Interesting to see what happens next year.

I planted some blackberries and loganberries as well as tayberries  and a boysenberries in

  November last year.

They were still quite small until may this year(2ft) ,but since then have put on a massive growth   spurt.

They have put out between 8-12 canes each some over 15ft long,I didn't think they would grow so big so fast, but luckily I made a large fence for them to climb over,

I have had some fruit, but I think next year the yields should be bigger ( or so I hope )
