Keep your plot tidy - don't give them anywhere to hide.

I saw a trail going up the wall in my hallway a few weeks back. I looked up and it was halfway across the ceiling. Wouldn't want that suddenly losing its grip and dropping on your head, would you :)

I was in my shed earlier, looked up to see this big cobweb above my head (one of many ... ) and a slug trail across the cobweb
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I can really recommend a small pond or two on your allotment (if the committee rules allow of course!) to attract frogs and toads who do a great job of patrolling the beds against slugs and snails.

Just remember to build in a slope of stones or a shallow bit where other critters such as hedgehogs can get back out if they fall in and place a stout grid over the top to stop children from falling face down into your pond.

The wet cool weather has really brought the slugs out but so have the frogs who like the same conditions.

not even a washing up bowl buried at soil level and filled with water with a few stones in it so critters can get out? Surely that would be a bird bath? A couple of small logs for frogs to hide under and that's all you need.
