How do you know when to pick sweetcorn?

How do you know when to pick sweetcorn?

How do you know when sweetcorn is ready to pick? The "hair" on ours is starting to die back now -- does this mean it's time to pick it?

you need to pull back the leafs a little, so that you can see the kernals, they you need to stick your fingernail into one of them, if they burst and milky white liquid runs out, then they are ready to pick ;)
