That's lovely Grannie,I find cross stitch very frustrating, but I will master it.Is it a surprise for Nici?

Oh yes Snowy.  She knows I am stitching something, and has guessed its another mermaid, but she doesn't know which one it is!   ;) :)

They are lovely DBG, what a thoughtful pressy!  I have a lovely bag that Oliveview made for me, and its lined and very well made!  I really like it and as it's so soft, I can fold it up and put it in my handbag!

On this one I took the butterfly out of the original pattern, changed the colours and had a play with pretty buttons and things.

Bondaweb type stuff used to attach the picture to the bag at first then a running stitch around.

I really like them!

and so do I - what a wonderful present they make  :)

and no excuse for using a carrier bag when you have one of those  ;)

DBG,they're lovely gifts, you could go in to business with them, probably not lucrative enough to give up work unfortunately though
Grannie,I'm sure she'll love it,when do you go to see her?

Lovely bags, how pretty  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Thanks all! :D

I'm really chuffed with how these came out.
Will have to make one or two for myself when I've made the Christmas cards, another couple of birthday cards, bunting for Harley, Daisy and Ruby, the wedding stationary for Ben's cousins wedding next year...

...there's always something I NEED to be doing! ::)

DBG can I ask where you got the pattern from? I have been looking for a similar butterfly pattern for ages (ie one that isn't all 'filled in' and slightly Lacey looking)

Shhh DBG, we musn't talk about sending people photocopies, it's breach of copyright, and we don't want to get John in trouble!  :(

I tie my own fishing flies using various feathers, hair, wool, and synthetics. Counts as a craft in my book if there's interest i'll put up a picture.
Cheers

Yes please Aled - my father used to tie his own fishing flies and I loved watching him. If I remember correctly he spent more time on the flies than on the fishing.  :D

when I was a country park ranger one of the other rangers when he was on desk duties used to tie his own flies, very interesting :)
I used to do things like this when it was my turn for being shut inside on desk duties :)
