I've been icing cakes since I made my wedding cake in 1969
Then it was all royal icing and piping stars and flowers everywhere, then we moved on to making flowers, that actually looked like flowers
Now making models with fondant icing seems all the rage. The first one I tried was a penguin for Winterval, then a hat, now the cat - but it is very easy, compared to piping; it's like making things out of Plasticine. It looks impressive though
