Are the red flowers in the background part of the foliage in the foreground?

Hi Tony, The flowers are from another plant which is really pretty. But this one I don't even know if it flowers.

don't think so, my penstemons are not upright like that, they tend to loll all over the place

Some Penstemons are quite upright in growth - could be?

Could be a type of perennial lobelia

Looks just like my penstemons which grow straight and tall and don't fall over!!!
