As you know it was my firsat year of gardening and thought i would show you some pics what i took from this year.we never did to bad we had some good crops and some bad mainly due to the snails and slugs.hope you enjoy them anyway.

We grew the herbs from seeds out of all this we had a great crop of parsley, chive and mint.the cats wrecked the rest.

the beds for the veg.we made the mistake of spacing them far to much.wont happen next year.

the tomatoes they were a good crop and all four plants thrived.

Only one sunflower survived the rest was eaten by the slug

my lilly plants

The lillys was lush but something was eating them the plants were fine it was the flowers.

The tomatoes my havnt they grown.

There was one pumpkin and two courgette plants i think i gave my dad one of the courgettes .mine ended up eaten and his produced great courgettes.

one half of the veg garden just sprouting.

This is the other half.

bit later on you can see my raised herb garden.

getting the fruit

This is one half of my garden the veg side is behind those bushes.

getting there with the courgettes or so i thought.

we also had a great crop of beans, and potatoes.for our first year we did quite well.i couldnt have done it with out your advice on here .so can i also say a big thankyou to you all especially munty,WG..
i have learned so much this year  and hopefully learn my are past mistakes also .
heres to 2008. cheers

May I point out that this post says it all. To me, anyhow. Yes, very much, these kind of posts, the constant teasing, p**s taking, joking and irony which is taken well and said in a good heart by most makes the site special. Otherwise it would just be like any odd site.

Well done all that - looks great!

Your lillies looked like a lilly beetle family had a munch.  If this happens next year, get some neem oil (The Neem People on line do them) which you mix into soapy warm water and treat the plants with.

Lily Beetles lay eggs in the ground and are hard to get rid of. The neem oil renders them infertile.

Good luck
