Hi' All
   Its been quite a while since i last made a posting,so i thought I'd keep you up to date. I've had my 5 chucks about 6 months now, dos'nt time fly.
I've purchased an  automatic door opener  along with the timer control a couple of months ago, what a cracking device I can highly recommend them. The hens seem in great condition,I am getting 4 good sized eggs  a day sometimes 5. The only problem I've got at the moment is with my Light Sussex, she is really scraggy, infact nearly bald around the kneck,because  soon as the black feathers start to show  the coockoo maran hen pecks at them till she is able to pull them out. Can any one advice what is the best action I can take to stop this. So the bird flu is with us, quite a way from where I am in Notts,but there again it can quickly travel. We must all try to keep aware and on guard and on top of  our  house work,and just hope it dos'nt spread.

try an anti peck bit ,or paint the blacks neck with purple spray ...
