117, and that's it!
« on: July 30, 2012, 20:41 »

Out of 14 tomato plants, all I have showing is 117 (green) tomato fruits.  :(

So sad I am, I counted them tonight....

I'll be lucky if anymore flowers get pollinated and turn to fruits looking at the state (happyness) of the flowers that's left.

Also.... out of those 14 plants, 4 have NO FLOWERS at all!   Just tonnes of foliage.

So tempted to rip 'em out!  :(

You have counted them

There are some that will say at least you have 117  ;)

sounds about right this year  :nowink:

It's not good is it. Some varieties have definitely coped better with the weather than others.
On some plants the bottom 2 trusses didn't set anything at all, and some plants seem to have bigger gaps (more nodes) between trusses. It all means fewer toms for mine  :(

That must be a couple of jars of green tomato chutney even if the sun never comes out again!!

Out of 11 plants I have 6 with only flowers, one with 3 green tomatos and seems to have fallen asleep and a couple that are looking promising, with 4 trusses each and actually a couple of fruits going orange on a few of them!

Think this year was put in the separate the men from the boys (or the girls from the Ladies) as its definitely a special year.!
Very often quite lost- would be more lost if I could work out where I was!- But always find my way home.....

The lower light levels have definitely resulted in longer nodes this year... very noticeable

I'm hanging in there for a crop worth eating, but there will definitely not be the glut I was hoping for to bottle

Mine are just starting to flower, don't think I'll get many toms this year.

I ripped out half of my tomato plants yesterday as I'd planted them too close to each other in the poly tunnel and could barely access them. They had no fruits on them. The remaining ones  have about 8 toms each on them which have been green for absolutely ages. I have one tomato which is turning a nice orange colour.

not hopeful here - got some tiny fruits but lots of brown spots appearing on leaves over the last week - have taken the leaves off to see what happens next and try and coax the plants along

I counted 170ish on 8 plants  :D
Although they are all green and I butchered the foliage yesterday so I could be crying by next weekend. I also have lots of flowers on mine also.

3 tomatoes on 17 outdoor plants - so far - none on 2 indoor plants. Abundant flowers on all though.

We've only got a small amount of tomatoes showing on our plants but, as the sun has not been making an appearance too often, we're quite excited about it! :D

Whether it's 1 or 117 it's still something that's grown due to your hard work, loving care, some sunshine and a lot of luck!
