bramley apple becomong leafless

I know that it has been windy but ....my lawn is littered with brown leaves that have blown off my mature Bramley apple tree     The tree itself is beginning to look naked. It has had scab for many years but still produced a plentiful crop. What is going on? Any one any ideas?

our 2 large, ancient pear trees drop leaves every summer at this time, regardless of the weather (but always plenty of leaves left) - no idea why this happens, just that we have to net the bed beneath them to gather the dropped leaves and fruit

The tree has always had scab. Perhaps that has weakened it against this years weather onslaught.I
