What plants are these? Fruit trees possibly?
« on: July 29, 2012, 11:26 »
Hello all, hope you are enjoying the weather.
I have some plants that im hoping are lemon or apple trees, can anyone confirm this? I planted them from seed out of fruit that I ate but am having trouble identifying which is which. Also is there any special care I need to give these? greenhouse? Keep indoors over winter?

Thanks :)

First picture, larger plant on the right definitely looks citrus.

I'm not saying it is, but it looks like it to me. Its a tree and you can use its berries. :)

both of the ones on left look a bit apple like...      (different varieties maybe?)

agree with argylie that top right looks citrus/lemon and bottom right also looks a bit like elder

Is it only lemon and apple you planted or are there other fruits it could be?

Thanks for the replies :)
I think they could be grapefruit, lemon, apple, orange, pear, or grape. I have a small plastic tub in the kitchen and whenever some fruit is eaten if it has seeds in it then I extract them and put them in the box. I then just threw them in damp soil in the conservatory and left them be with a little watering now and then. The only confusing thing is I didnt eat any rowan berries or plant any rowan seeds but am using used compost which is from a garden nursery.

Also incase your wondering in the top of the first picture the cactus type plants are dragon fruit grown from seed taken out of store bought dragon fruit  :D

Well veggirl suggested it could be elder, but also you can get rogue seedlings appear. :)
