Moving Toms

Some of my toms are siting in standing water on a partially flooded plot. What are the chances of moving them to a dryer area and survival?

If you think that the plot is not going to dry out and you have somewhere drier that you can move them to it might be worth taking a risk as most plants do not like to be totally flooded. When digging the tomatoes out take out as large a rootball as you can and put some FBB in the new planting hole to give the transplanted tomato plant a good start. If it is a cordon tomato be careful when moving the plant so that you do not damage the stem, and re-stake carefully.

How about seeing if they will go into large pots, buckets or anything portable so you can keep them off the ground if it is that wet where you are.

Like Springlands says, carefully does it but it seems as though you have nothing to loose if they are so waterlogged
