Tiny penguins.
« on: July 11, 2012, 09:55 »

My three little penguins (black orpington chicks). The result of my worst hatch yet. Bought 7 eggs and only three hatched, very disappointing but at least my broody has a few chicks to mother.

So cute!

I have 12 eggs under 2 broody hens (six each) that are due to hatch on Monday. They are Australorp x Indian Game and are called Welsh Blacks. I can't wait to see what they look like - the adults are handsome birds.

For once I kind of hope none of them are. My children will want to keep any girls but we don't have the room really.
I bought the hatching eggs with C******** hampers in mind. Had thought a home raised oven ready chicken would be a nice addition to the usual jams, biscuits and beers.
