Sorry that your ladies are looking unwell.

Are there any other symptoms?  are they coughing or sneezing a lot.  Are they laying normally or is there a change to the pattern of egg laying / quality of eggs?

Is there also a discharge from the eyes?  How long have you been noticing this for, how big is your flock and how old are the birds?

If you can hear a rattling sound when the affected hens are breathing (pick them up and listen to their chest area) then I think it sounds like Infectious Bronchitis which can be brought in by other hens or by wild birds.

Unfortunately, whilst there is an available treatment, there is no guarantee that the birds will fully recover and the airborne IB virus has an area of effect of 1.5 miles around you, so there is a chance that if it is left without any action being taken that other chickens in the area can contract it.

Have you had the affected chickens for long and has there been new additions to your flock recently?

Try Respite - it can be bought on line.  In the meantime, a  little garlic in their water.
If it doesn't improve - it could be Mycroplasa and will need antibiotics from the vet.
I'm not young enough to know everything!

Either crush a garlic clove and add to their water, or sprinkle a little dried garlic in.
