Tonight pan fried chicken, small potatoes boiled in skin, broccoli, fermented cucumbers and                  S P R O U T S. What were the sprouts like then(all gone)?

7 year old: YUMMYYYYYYYYY!

Gotta be a first time for everything. I'm happy and rest my case. 4 min steaming=great sprouts.

I really think young children get a raw deal in the press, if you believed everything you read they're all eating McDogPoo all day everyday!!! My daughter LOVES everything i put infront of her (except she does not like anything in batter or breadcrumbs....... no bad thing).

Yes there are parents that really don't give a damn what their children eat BUT a huge number of us (like you Gobs) really tip the balance in the other direction!

Children (under 10ish) really look to their parents to provide the best example to follow!!

Some of mine died as well, but then, there is no European monsoon every year, thank god. :D

Fermented cucumber is one of the finest pickled things to be had.

I shall post the very simple way next year when we have them again. :)

No, it's not a Hungarian thing, (never said so mind) you get them done in a few places, but they are two diff birds, pickled and fermented cucumbers.

my friends and i call our cucumber pickle "bread and butter pickle"

coz it's so scrummy you can have it just with bread and butter

it's just cucs and onions and some heated redwine vinegar, spices sugar etc

stores for months - but never lasts that long
