Tasteless Strawberries

The ones in May from the polytunnel were superbly flavoured. The same variety in the open ground are relatively flavourless. Could this be due to al the rain and lack of sun?

Mine aren't as tasty as last year and they're harder too. Many are rotting off before they ripen as well. It's the wet/cold weather I think. But it's a bit sunnier now, so hopefully they'll ripen better from now on.
