can i give my chucks small pieces of fruit (apple,orange ect) i have read on here that they like tomateos. will use them as treats ??

Chickens love fruit - try offering them a grape and you'll see what I mean. Not sure about oranges, I presume they're alright, somebody else might know.

Hmmm......mine only seem to like what they can't have.

Maybe what they find in the garden is enough for them.

Mine eat all sorts chopped apple, grapes, Banana and to my horror my son just gave them MY last strawberries

which they loved but it means no strawberries and cream for me tonight

I have 6 birds They love apples which I slice and hand feed them I once dropped the whole apple and they pounced on it like a shoal of piranahs...it was gone in seconds!!!!

Mine love apples, grapes, strawberries and even melon

I'm pretty sure they should not be given any citrus fruit.

my chooks love all types of fruit particularly apples, grapes, pears and tomatoes - my husband gets annoyed because he thinks I buy fruit & veg expecially for them!

Mine think it rains strawberries at this time of the year. When picking them I throw soft ones into their run - it is hilarious to watch them
