paint for my coop

would like some advice on what wood preserver to use on my coop,i know it has to be animal friendly and non toxic.

I used culprinol. Painted it blue and cream. Chooks lived elsewhere when I did this.

A few layers of poundland woodstain and then varnished on the inside of the coop was how I did it. I havent got the chickens in there yet so the varnish and woodstain has time to dry properly. I dont think it matters too greatly as long as its left to dry. However, I would try to avoid creasote which stinks like hell whether its dry or not.

I used wickes water based outdoor weatherproof paint, no ill effects so far.

i painted one of ours in a wood preserver like fence paint and the new one we got i painted in cuprinol shades paint and the rain just runs off the wood where as the other one we had that i painted in wood stain seemed to rot really quick. It may not be the cheapest paint but i really like it. (mine is now sage creen and cream!)
