We have blight in Cornwall
« on: July 01, 2012, 12:46 »
Just spent most of this morning removing the top growth from my earlies and maincrop potatoes. Kestrel, first early, got it first and sent it own the line to my main crop I think.

Orla were the last to show signs of blight but the potatoes have been fine. Looks like I saved things just in time.

Luckily I was able to get my seed potatoes in early so they have had a chance to mature before the blight did its worst.

One day - lush green - the next, brown and dead leaves. It takes no prisoners!

I think it showed up first down your way, the blight maps have been showing some outbreaks since early may  :(

I'm glad you caught it in time to save the spuds.
