I always pack my topping down. Don't know why and never thought about it before; I shall have to experiment next time

strawberry crumble with ground almonds and brown sugar ts quite a moist one so best not to pack down

I like it made with wholewheat flour and demerara sugar, so it's all brown and yummy.
