Gooseberry growing...

Years ago, we used to grow gooseberries, and Mrs Growster eventually admitted, that she really didn't like them that much, although we used to make some quite good wine from them.

In a weaker moment (for her), last evening, she mentioned that she would give them a try again, and we began to revel in the memory of some bushes we discovered in our first ever garden, many years ago...

They were huge, golden and very, very sweet, but of course, I never knew the variety!

Next autumn, (as long as Mrs G is still agreeable), we're going to buy some more bushes, and I wonder what the team think should be the best dessert one - preferably like the one above from the first wilderness we lived in...
