Pretty easy Nat  incorporate as much manure as you can in the planting position, dig your holes at the bottom of the hole break up the soil, plant them at the same depth as they where before, you should find a stain where the soil has been, remove any damaged etc stems and water well in.

Stand back and admire your hard work

to give you an idea nathan - the raspberries have been in a temp position - just 3ft sq and just healed in - for over a year - they produced good fruit under the circumstances - so will love a bit more care and muck - but they will in truth grow just about anywhere.

it's good to give space between canes - to allow easy picking and i always face the toe of the roots in the same direction along a row.

the larger gooseberry can be trained to stay in that shape (dble cordon for those who may want to know) or you can just let it do it's thing - it too has been restricted (in a pot) so will love to get feet into the ground - and you should get a few nice fruits next season.

the currants - as 1 yr old cuttings - again with restricted growth - in my cuttings tub - will benefit from space and food. space wise i would think a few feet apart for now - and as they grow and fill up (end next season) - move every other one out and plant in a new row (or tag on end)

when i plant fruits - i normally manure the ground - digging in - plant up - throw down ash and grit - then cover any bare ground with newspaper and cover with more muck. the paper really helps to keep the weeds down and moisture in and the ash and grit helps to deter slugs etc.

as the paper rots and the top layer of muck goes in - repeat.

sorry i couldn't send strawberries - i have potted a load of runners up - so maybe i can send some in the spring
