best way to use fleece with brassicas
« on: June 20, 2012, 19:54 »
I have all my brassicas in triangle shaped beds this year wondering if I could make some sort of low cage with canes as a frame and fleece over it nas I've been given lots as presents

Yes, no reason why not in principle - but which brassicas have you been given?  Some get quite tall ...

Also, better to use mesh rather than fleece, which isn't very strong.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Fleece does tend to tear in high winds and holes get worn in it quite easily too

Yes - it can. I am wondering about using the green windbreak 50% netting for my raspberry frame and also brassica protection. The main thing is not to have it low enough to touch the leaves or the butterfly ovipositor will get through!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
