sheba's poorly foot
« on: June 16, 2012, 19:54 »
My dog Sheba, she is my avatar, had a lump on her foot for many years but just lately it has began to bother me.  Not sure if it was growing or not I took her to the vets and they advised removing it as it is quite close to her paw.

She had the operation yesterday and is feeling very sorry for herself and is limping and holding up her paw.  We are now waiting for the biopsy next week.

I know it is all for her own good but when animals cannot understand why you leave them somewhere new and then they come back in pain, she has such a sorryful look in her eyes.  Makes you wish you could have the op for them.

Oh dear. Sorry to hear that Sandy. It's a worry isn't it.   :(

I never fret about my own health but dogs are another matter entirely  :D  I had the most ornery Jack Russell ever but if he was ill I was beside myself  :nowink:

I hope the news from the vet is good but the wait for the all-clear could be a nail-biting one. We'll all join in  ;)

Awww, poor Sheba, it's so worrying when they have something wrong with them. Fingers crossed the lump is nothing to worry about.  :)

Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. I have known several people whose dogs have developed benign lumps so hope the news is good for you.

I hope Sheba feels much better very soon and that the prognosis is good. :)

How's sheba's foot ?

She will forgive, when it's healed & the pain has gone, infact she'll be grateful

When slinks had her teeth done, she was very wary, like you are taking me back, more pain, now she happier then we have ever known her (rescue).

Thanks guys, the bandage is off her foot and it is healing well, she has been very good and is not trying to lick or bite the wound.  She has her stitches out tomorrow and I hope we will hear the biopsy report.  I have been all over her and found a couple of little lumps on her back about the size of a pea so I am really hoping the lump was benign.

Her foot has healed very well but the biopsy is that it is a tumor but a slow growing one so it is grows at the same rate it should be ok.  If it grows fast then she may lose her foot.

fingers crossed for her, our Rosie has a benign tumour on her bottom jaw which we are hoping also is slow growing otherwise she will lose half of her jaw. They are such a worry aren't they?
