hi ya  :) i planted out my runner beans a couple of weeks ago they were a lush green couler, at first i had trouble with slugs they have been delt with now, the plants are yellow they are well waterd and starting to climb the sticks , very slow me thinks.........pete

It's been a bit chilly ... they don't like the cold.  Can you fleece them a little without it getting ripped to shreds by the wind or damaging the plants?

Mine were like that last year and I found they responded really well to a seaweed feed. They took off and returned to a green colour after that.  Worth a try.

Probably the rubbish weather we're having Pete.

Ours are the same, but the stems are strong, and where they get bashed, they start new growth in the forks, which is in fact not a bad thing, as you get bushier plants!

As Yorkie says, they may need a bit of protection, I know I would!
