Hey everyone.

My hens are keeping very well now- no major dramas of late since Patsy had her tumble into the pond!

I've noticed that when I go to pick my ladies up they tend to squat down straight away with their wings slightly raised. Am I right in thinking that they see me as the rooster and the most dominant chicken? Even my most dominant hen does it!

As always any enlightenment is always welcomed.

Yep mine know whos boss!! They don't however squat down for my OH so not sure where he is in the order!

Wow, well thats answered the odd behavour, as mine started to do that just before they went broody...before they'd run like the wind! lol

Mine too! Its definitely easier when its comes to picking them up to put back into the coop if I'm going out anywhere, or if they are generally misbehaving and have escaped to my neighbours garden!

Mine do as well even the chicks have started to do it as well lol
