Most of the birds round here are so posh, they've all got Ipods, so I reckon they'll turn their beaks up at a few old CDs!

:D :D :D. This thread made me chuckle. A good way to start the day at 5.45 in the morning. X I did once catch a pigeon doing the moonwalk on my brassica bed. X

No doubt, practising for the CD hooly!

I use lengths of old video tape cut to about two feet long four or six lengths then tied to a cane and just move them around the garden .this seems to work for me give it a try.
John

That's a great idea.  Which format works best, Betamax or VHS?  Which films are the pigeons most afraid of?  I've got a very old copy of Nightmare on Elm Street.  Will this do the job?

Does this lark really work? Or is it just that people do it because other people do it?

I would want to ask the same question as Kirpi - I do see sites with them on but I also wonder does it do any good?

I have some disk's over my veg patch in the back garden, I put them there as I suspected that the Jackdaws where pulling my seedling up. It did not work, the Jackdaw's took no notice of them at all, mainly, I suspect, due to my better half being a dedicated bird feeder. But I think it works on the smaller birds.

Any CD by 'Whitesnake' will deter birds - they hate the sight of snakes!

Funnily enough, I can get you several copies - no questions asked!

Take a large stack of CD's down the lotty, put teh kettle on, brew up then sit in a comfy place and wait. Finally use the CD's as small but very shiny frisbees to throw at the offending birds as needed. :tongue2:
