Plumbago - single long stem?
« on: June 10, 2012, 13:50 »
Hi folks

I recently purchased 5 plumbago seeds, and planted them all in separate pots with a view to using them as houseplants for bright windowsills. They all germinated well and are growing pretty fast. However they're very much just one long stem, with leaves off it. Looks a little gangly in a pot!

Do they put down extra shoots? Or should I have planted several seeds in one pot? Many thanks

Boog

Normal practice is to nip out the 'growing point' at some unspecified stage (the top of the single stem) thus causing the plant to send out side shoots turning the beast a bit more bushy.    ;)

I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !
