Kirpi, it is, except there are about a million nettles and their roots which need pulling out.
I got a really late start this year, as up until the middle of May, this was my chicken pen, and it was completely bare of growth (apart from the big bush of nettles)
When my last two chickens were killed I decided to have a rest from chicken keeping for a while, and broadcast grass and flower seed in the pen to brighten it up for the summer. Then I remembered I had a whole bunch of seeds from a few years ago and decided, on the spur of the moment to try to grow some salad/toms etc over the summer.
This is when I was a lot more organised back in 2009...
I will probably dig it all over and start again in the Autumn. I have made quite a lot more space now, and I really want to try growing potatoes and more brassicas. But I need to get all of the chicken huts out of the way, the ground prepared and de-nettled etc
