buying compost online
« on: June 05, 2012, 16:57 »
Hello we have just brought some veg trugs (manger type raised beds) to use at home and I want to get some bags of compost to go in them, I have had a look on line but I don't seem to be getting much  at the beginning of the year it was all buy one get one free and now I can only find a few sites even advertising bags of compost ? I will want them delivered (which I have found generally is free in the past) can any one recommend any decent sites  ??
some people are like slinkys......they're really good for nothing, but they still bring a smile to your face as you push them down the stairs!!

just to add we need 12 x £60L bags have found somewhere that will deliver for £5 so total cost would be £59.00 does this sound a good deal??

At £5 for a 60L bag that seems a bit steep to me Starry.

I've never bought compost online, but at any of my local garden centres I can get 3 X 60L bags of decent compost for £9.99, so 12 would be £40.

Perhaps you have a local garden centre or builders merchant who will deliver to you? Fiver delivery is OK, but £5.00/bag is very dear for 60 litres. I'd ask around. :)
