Quite agree AnnieB there is still at least 6 months growing time for leeks yet.  I find they sit in the ground for a few weeks and then have a growth spurt.  I always seem to have a good size by the time of the first frosts.

Going back to the OP's question:


If you sow some spring onion, spinach and beetroot into modules around the end of July, then these can follow on in spaces where you have pulled carrots or other roots out and give you some useful extras to plant out early September
