Is it too late for Aubergines

Hi - Have I missed the boat for sowing Aubergines I nipped into Homebase earlier only to find they didnt have any Aubergine plants - I know the pack says by April but it's hardly been April weather -  I just dont want to get my hopes up thats all.

I always start mine in Jan or Feb, so yes, too late now 

Or if you really want to have a go with them, try a few more shops. There must be a few local garden centres or other chains like B&Q in your area that still have some plants.
