Plants that like shade

I've got a shady corner of my allotment where the sun only gets round in the afternoon. Can anyone recommend any plants that would happy live in a shady part in clay soil? The rhubarb doesn't like it so I'll be moving it next year. There is a large tree and a fence there to cast a shadow, so it will probably stay quite moist a lot of the time.

I've had a quick search but couldn't see a previous thread, so if there is one could someone point me in the right direction?

To be honest, there aren't many vegetables that tolerate shade. If possible, put the shed there.

If you have to use it for growing crops, then if it is not too heavy salad crops are best, especially lettuce, radish, parsley, cucumber. You might also try leaf beet and pak choi (because it grows so quickly).

I believe jerusalem artichokes don't mind shade, but I have not grown them myself, so can't give them a personal recommendation

Few veg like part shade but most will tolerate it. But your cropping will be later than usual and perhaps not as heavy, but you'll get some regardless.

I find green peppers don't mind some shade, same with lettuces, spinach and chard, all of which appreciate some extra moisture.

my cabbages live in the shadow of my next plot's compost and shed. they looks very happy there. They do get sunshine when the sun raises high.

If there is a large tree nearby, I'd be surprised if it was that moist despite the shade. Trees compete strongly for moisture and nutrients.

Salad and leaf plants will do better.

my first jerusalem articokes at home were in really manky soil in the shade of the wood shed and did ok
