No idea, but it looks just like mine. Most plants look really good with the occasional odd one here and there

They look pretty good to me (unless you are referring to the gap down the right middle!)

Don't know when you planted yours, but mine were planted in late Feb, so some of the older leaves are bound to be past their best, although they no doubt wouldn't object to a sprinkling of a general fertiliser if you happen to feel that way inclined.  ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

OK, i've marked the ones that i'm not happy about.

they seem to not be growing upright as is normal, but sprouting repeatedly from the base, almost as if the cloves that are forming have started to sprout?

I believe it's sometimes possible that what appear to be individual cloves are actually clusters of mini-cloves, which when planted could grow as yours have, although it's quite difficult to see whether the stems are individual or there are multiple sets of leaves from a single stem (the most stems I've seen from what I thought was a single clove is 2, but they were quite clearly separate.)

Someone else might have a better idea from personal experience - for me I'd just leave them there if they continue to look healthy and see what happens (may finish up with multiple bulbs with tiny cloves, but even weird garlic is better than no garlic!)  :)

a couple of years ago I grew some a couple of Lidl garlic cloves in some pots - just to see.
They did the same thing as yours.
I lifted one just to see what was going on and it was indeed what jay has described - lots of tiny cloves were growing from inside one wrapper.
When I split the bulb up I chose a couple of big ones to plant, but the 'big cloves' were obviously bundles of little ones

Mum may have the answer - are yours planted from regular seed garlic or supermarket stuff that might have "bundles" of small cloves that got planted as one large bundle?

I've have had similarly looking garlic and upon investigation I found that some leaves were unable to become erect because they were unable to tear open a previous leaf cover.

A bit difficult to visualise but do try !   ::)   Cheers,    Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !
