Put some French bean plants out now under some pop bottle cloches or is it still too cold

All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

My last frost is probably similar as just a touch south of you

if you look at the red writing it will say your last frost date
- however it does say that it only a prediction!

My predicted last frost is early May too, but the Met Office is predicting a low of 3 degrees for me next Tuesday night. It's very difficult to tell this year.

I put some dwarf French beans out two days ago and the frost last night doesn't seem to have affected them yet, but I'll wait and see!

It's not just frost that's an issue. Cold will stall them to the extent they may not get going again.
We didn't get one in this part of Leicestershire and I'm very suprised that if there was one elsewhere, that they're still standing!

My son informed at 5am this morning that it was frosty outside
thanks for that!
Any way this time last year I planted my runners out and then wrapped the wigwam in fleece until early June, worked great and was picking beans first week of July. I am planning on doing the same tomorrow

Put mine out today under pop bottle cloches and some borlotto beans under the big cloches, clear skies tonight so fingers crossed.
