Pumpkin and squash beginner

Hello,

I bought some plants at our Association sale today, one each of Invincible Pumpkin, Queensland Blue and Turk's Turban, all about 3 inches tall.   

So, now what? Am having trouble finding info online. When can I plant them out, how much space do they need and how do I care for them?

they can go out when your last frost has passed.
Start hardening them off - out during the day, and in at night for a few days, then leave them out somewhere sheltered when the forecast is for a warm night. Then they're ready

They need about 3 ft  between them, but will trail a lot further than that.

Brilliant, thanks.  Not worried about frost now, I'm in London, so I guess I could get them in next weekend.  Don't have any rotted manure, only fresh - could buy a bag of something or other but I haven't figured out the types of organic stuff yet and it intimidates me rather.  Anything in particular that is good for these on clay soil? 

Oh and what about pests? We tried a pumpkin at home a few years ago and the slugs killed it within a few days 

I'll be planting mine out in about a week. I'm planning a decorative climbing squash up a trunk feature in the middle of my lawn, with the help of a few Uchiki Kuri

Do you think they'd like it if I put some lawn mownings at the bottom of the hole, beneath the plant? It would give them a bit of warmth, not sure if it would help in terms of food. I'm looking for new things to do with my growing pile of lawn mowings, but you could probably tell that. As an aside - is there anything I shouldn't mulch with lawn mowings?
