bush beans
« on: May 10, 2012, 22:17 »
I remember reading something about a variety of beans called bush beans. I have a large cold frame that I built almost two foot high at the back.

I figure I might be able to grow more tender things in the frame. How big do these bush beans grow or can anyone recommend a variety of low growing beans?

Not grown them but any variety of dwarf bean would be OK in the space.

e.g. Purple Teepee, Purple Queen
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Last year I grew Minidor Yellow bush beans from Real Seeds - bear in mind it was a cold May and hardly any rain all spring/early summer, the plants barely grew more than a foot in height but the crop per plant was amazing.

I am really glad to hear this.  I am going to sow my Minidor's tomorrow.
