Sometimes when I crack open an egg instead of it being pure orangey/yellow, its got darker areas and looks abit blotchy not a pure colour.  Dosnt look very appetising!!  I thought it might be old but they are collected everyday and then kept in the kitchen.  Any ideas for the odd colouring?

Can you post a photo of the next one you get? It's difficult to offer advice if you can't see the yolk.  They may  also be eating something that could stain the yolk - have you fed them anything different or have plants coming up in your run?
