apple tree pollination
« on: May 02, 2012, 10:50 »
A friend of mine has a discovery apple tree and is wondering if it will be pollinated by a nearby crab apple? The trees are about 20-25 yards apart. Does anyone know if it will or should he get another tree?
If I plant them, will they grow?

That will depend on the type of crab apple tree.

I wouldn't worry though, the discovery apple tree will have many many different apple trees that are able to pollinate it.  And as long as there are other apple trees within about a mile radius it will bare fruit.

Just leave it to nature and the bees will do their job :D
