chemicals etc?

Do I need anything now, or wait for something to go awry?

I'm wondering if I should purchase any powders/liquids etc for various things. The things I've seen I've no idea if are needed or only if a problem arises. I'm about to put an order in with a company so I'll stick them on with the postage if so

anti pek spray
violet antiseptic spray
Nettex sanitising powder/ground wormer
poultry sterlising soloution
red mite/louse powder or srays for bird and/or house

Hi, I am also new to chook keeping & would welcome any advice. With the mud bath in my run it is very difficult to remove the droppings each night which I do as best as I can - would some sort of disinfectant powder help - if so any suggestions as to brand. Despite the mud I hope you love your chooks as much as I do. thanks

To a large degree what you need to stock up on depends on how accessible shops that supply these items are to you. I have not bought many of the recommended items and have been keeping chooks for 8 years but I have a place up the road that I can go straight out to to buy what I want.
