If people want rabbit manure you can always let me know and I'll ask on our rabbit forum.  :) often rabbit rescues struggle to get rid of all their waste as some councils group it with cat and dog manure.

Growmore isn't organic!

Ah!!??? thank you for putting me straight about that.  Was under false assumption that it was.

Still on a very steep learning curve.

Blood Fish and Bone is generally considered to be the 'Gromore' for organic gardens  ;)
Harrods Horticulture list it as NPK: 5 - 5 - 6.5.

I also use home made compost and horse manure added to the soil each year.  I add a little bit of BFB plus some eggshells underneath big brassicas such as cabbage.   They seem to do alright on it.

I have occasionally used seaweed extract as a foliar feed.  My runner beans were looking rather yellow at the end of June / early July last year, but recovered extremely well and looked a healthy green after a seaweed feed.

If I have some wood ash I put that round the garlic in spring.

That is all I do and it seems to work OK.

No Yorkie, and Matt31, compost and manures can't be actually rated 7-7-7 cos if they were we'd just sprinkle them on like Growmore!  Instead, when applied at (approx!) 10kg/m2 they provide (approx!) 7-7-7, or put it another way, they provide the equivalent of Growmore.

Is that everyone else's understanding?  Cos it is mine, and it's too important to get completely wrong!

Because animal manures seem to vary widely I always compost mine with other waste to try and get a balanced end product.  The same for nettles and comfrey, so that  the richness of these is shared throughout the end product.

To clarify: 7:7:7 as given is an example of the contents ratio of manure/compost

It's the application rate that's very different for manures/composts when compared with fertilisers ! In other words, you need to add an awful lot of it, if using it instead of packet fertiliser :)
