i have had both my toms and cukes in for a bout 1 week! being somewhat impatient cant help thinking they wont germinate they have been in a cold g/h now been bought into conservatory! whats the longest you would wait for germination of any seed before trying a new batch???

Well, a cold greenhouse will guarantee they won't sprout. They're tropical plants and can't take the cold, let alone germinate.

If you put them in a very warm place and the seeds are fairly new, then you could see them up in as little as a few days.

not really warm enough for them to germinate quickly in an uh greenhouse. Keep them in the conservatory until they come up in about another 1-2 weeks. Put them in the greenhouse when the nightime temp in there stays at or above 10 degrees.

No harm in bringing them in, but if you haven't seen anything in 7-10 days time, perhaps do a back-up sowing too.

I agree with Yorkie. They can be tempermental so best to do the backup. Better lots than none.

  whoohoo 2 of my cukes since bringing into conservatory have made an appearance after just 2 days! my chilli plants still a no show or my tomatoes but who caqres i love cucumber with salt!.............

now all you have to do is keep them alive - which is the hardest part

I can't advise they often die for me as well 

This year I'm going to try them in several different places and at different temperatures in the hope a couple will survive
