Awww, they've come home!

Last year, Brian gave our last 8 Shaver black pullets which were only 8-9 weeks old to Harry in the village.

Harry ended up with 16 chooks, but as they were free ranged, he decided he wants a bit of grass back, and last night we went over and brought 5 of the Shavers back here.  They are all laying well he said.  They were the last hatchings, so will be 1year old in June.

Mind you, he didn't listen to me telling him to to clip their wings!  He ended up clipping both wings on each hen and right back.  They do look weird!

Just stopped raining, so I might manage that!!  back in a bit!

They have grown into lovely birds though I don't think there is much chance of them flying anywhere soon!

I can't believe he cut so much off their wings Helen.  He said oh I had to do it as they still flew over the fence!

One of them looks like her shoulders are hunched up! lol

They look really healthy despite having Dallas shoulder pads on!!   

Have not seen that breed before so thank for sharing your photos. 

I have 4 Black Rocks but mine have more gold on them, never heard of them being called Shaver Blacks before.
