But weather patterns have also changed, strangerrachel, so it's not just you. The gardener these days has to anticipate weather and keep adapting

What is it with cucumbers. Most people love them. Can I get a plant that will grow outdoors.do you need more than one for pollination. Thanks in advance

Yes they grow outdoors. Look for a ridge variety, like "Marketmore".

The do need pollinating, but not cross pollinating. One plant is OK, if that's sufficient for your needs.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Seeds are SOWN, planting's for plants (and bulbs & tubers)!

Thanks DD I will look out for them .
Do I need some sheeting under the fruits to keep them off the soil or do they grow up supports.
Many thanks
John

They will grow up supports, but I just let them run.

I've never bothered putting anything under them, but there's nothing to say you can't!
