My poor red hen is getting her crown pecked by my bossy white chicken. Its nothing extreme but she has now got a small scab on it should i put some petroleum jelly on it or something else? to be fair she does stand her ground with the big bossy white so i think she may have asked for it

If it is bright red then paint with purple spray to hide the redness, otherwise leave it alone. If the white hen is doing this frequently then I would fit her with a beak clip

it only very small and is scabbed up well and doesn't look like anything to worry about but yes i will keep check of big white like i say the little red hen is pretty cocky and will steal food from the others and her and the white one haven't quite decided whos top chook yet. Thanks
