uggh last year is it still in the bottle??? aggggh i'd not want to smell it!!!!

dries blood as in blood fish and bone meal is at least dried to preserve it. I can't imagine something containing liquid blood kept in non-sterile conditions very chilled would be anything other than a putrid stinky mess :!:  :!:

Blood is a good source of nitrogen but is usually sold dried.  If it is bottled fresh then I'm amazed that it has not putrified.

Little point applying at this time of year though.  In fact, I'd be more inclined to use it on the compost heap in case it attracts vermin.

Blood sets like yogurt very soon after gained, so you do not have the problem of the watering can anyway and it should be really yak by now, well in a matter of a very short time.

Beef blood can pass on all sorts of problems,it was an old trick that gareners use to use when they had no other way of applying blood and bone to the soil,It was believed to be good because where this blood was spilled grass and weeds grew.It was most likely that this was just because of the moisture not just because it was blood.

Adding it is a risk, one I would not want to take.

Dried blood is perfect in many locations, and should not create any problems if used correctly.
