Which way should veg rows run?

I have read several articles that seem to contradict each other in terms of which way veg rows should run on a lottie. I have two half plots, both of which face SW, but more like SSW. Which ways should the rows run please? 

To be honest, I don't think it's really critical on an allotment.

On our site some gardeners who's plots are north/south plant their rows from East to West.  On the other part of the site where the plots run east/west the gardeners plant their rows north to south.  They all grow good veg.

The most important thing is good light conditions, so don't plant tall things on the south side of short things or the short ones will be growing in the shade.

And I agree as well, for what it's worth.

I'd sooner do 32' rows than 96' ones!
