Broody Faverolle
« on: April 02, 2012, 16:34 »
My Faverolle was fine earlier this afternoon, but I think she's suddenly (instantly???) gone broody.  She squeeled and fluffed out her feathers when I went to see if she was ok as she'd been on her nest for longer than normal so I took out the egg she was sitting on and gently lifted her out from under the bush.  She seems to be in some sort of trance and when I popped her down on the grass she just sat there as if she was still on the nest.  Is there anything else I can do, and what do I do if she doesn't come out of her trance like state?

she will come out of it, usually after a short while they fluff up their feathers giving everybody and every thing an indignant look and then either go back to find an egg or two of get some food to eat  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

Thanks Joyfull.  That surprised me - it was all so quick!  You're totally right, she did fluff up her feathers and then rushed round giving all of the others a quick peck.  She's been back to the nest again since but at least she wasn't so zoned out the second time.
