« on: April 01, 2012, 22:26 »
Hi, I sowed some Munstead Lavender in Feb, Good news is they are still alive, bad news is they are still little, they have a few extra tiny leaves and seem to make progress very slowly, should I expect this and is there anything I can give them as a supplement, Ta :unsure:

That sounds about right.  They won't want extra nutrition only a few weeks after sowing.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

And when you water them, do so from below as they don't care for wet leaves.

I sowed some of these seeds last year and they were only ready this year if you read about Lavender apparently it takes that long, I won't bother again now I know why they charge so much for a pot in the garden centre.

All the garden centres do cuttings to make it easier and faster. Personally, I never had luck with cuttings but will keep trying because they really are quite pricey as potted plants.

I bought half a dozen small plug plants, cheap on ebay in the autumn, potted them on and kept them in the cold greenhouse.

They're very bushy and healthy looking - but they're not an awful lot taller (about 4/5 ins now)
than they were when I got the plugs  :D

They're just slow growers  ::)
