I was going to plant my tatties this weekend in two unused dustbins. However, the weather forecast for next week states that it's going to go down to -3 here - and that's during the day! Should I hold off for a week or so?

It won't do any harm to hold off. Ours aren't going in until next weekend (Easter) at the earliest.

They will be well insulated in the compost so no need to hold off.

Yes there is snow forecast for a wee bit north of you, isn't there? Possibly the north of England too, according to a forecast I saw yesterday...

Back to the tatties...last year we didn't plant them until mid or even late April as the ground was too wet...
